The Carson Awards 'What Integrated Education means to us’
Last year’s Art Club undertook a ‘What Integrated Education means to us’ project under the guidance of the talented, Mrs Stephanie Hazelton. The children created a large RESPECT piece which you will find displayed in the Key Stage 2 resource area.
The art work was entered into the Annual Carson Awards. The Carson Awards were founded by the late Frank Carson and his son Tony, in order to help young people be ambassadors for Integrated Education and for Northern Ireland.
Windmill was the overall winner for Key Stage 2 and as a result received a trophy and £250 from Baroness May Blood.
This year’s Annual Carson award ceremony took place at Lagan College, Belfast on Thursday 4th October 2018. Mrs Ferguson and Mrs Hazelton travelled to Lagan College with 5 representatives from the ART Club to receive their prize. They were joined by the wonderful actor and writer, Dan Gordon.
At the event the Integrated Education Fund showcased a selection of this year's Carson Bursary and Prize projects.
Congratulations to all involved. What a fantastic achievement.
