Your donations of food and money to support the food bank are so valuable to us – thank you. This year, we also wanted to invite you to join with us to call for change. 90% of low-income families on Universal Credit are not able to afford the essentials. This isn’t right. The Trussell Trust and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation have launched the Guarantee our Essentials campaign, calling on the government to make sure that the basic rate of Universal Credit is at least enough to afford the essentials we all need, such as food, household bills and travel costs.
