Sustrans

25th Jun 2020

Good morning

Congratulations everyone, we made it to the final week of term! What an unusual few months it has been. Thank you for all you have been doing as key workers to support children and their families over this time – we know it hasn’t been easy, and we really appreciate that so many of you have been engaging with our Sustrans activities in the middle of it all.

I’ve attached our final activity for use as you need it. I’m sorry it is probably arriving a bit too late in the week – I was on leave until this morning. It’s an activity to encourage children & families to try out their route to school over the summer, so may be useful for families who are considering changes in how they normally travel to school. Please use as you wish – pdf attached.

This will be my last Sustrans update to you – I am leaving Sustrans at the end of July. Beth Harding has been job sharing this role with me, and she will be taking it on full-time from August. So Beth will be your new point of contact, and can be reached at beth.harding@sustrans.org.uk. She’ll be in contact with you early in the new school year.

I hope that you all have a wonderful and well-deserved break over these next few weeks – give your brains a good rest! It’s still hard to know what schools will look like in September, and I’m sure the uncertainty is difficult, so I hope you all get some clarity soon. However it looks, I’m sure you will continue to be creative and adaptable as you have been since March – you’ve all done a brilliant job.

Best wishes

Emma
