Sentence building resources
Hello Parents,
Hope all is going as well as it can be for you all. I attach sentence-building words which we would be using this term to create simple sentences, such as "I love my teddy" or "Granda has a ball." What I suggest is that you say the sentence to your little person such as "Kipper has a teddy." Get them to repeat it orally and nice and slowly. Then set out the four words and the full stop mixed up.
You can then set out Kipper...say the word.....then has....say the word......a......say the word......teddy......say the word. P1 are well aware of the need for a full stop to finish the sentence so say full stop and set it out too. Then get them to set it all out and read to you.
Five or ten minutes a day will make an amazing difference to their ability to sentence build for P2. If you want to you can add in other words suited to your child and their family or they can write the sentence and share with me on Dojo. I'd love to upload so me photos of what you have all been up to!
Take care and stay safe,
Mrs Cleary
