Investigating Shadows

Primary 6 are really enjoying our new topic 'Space and Solar System'.  We have enjoyed making sun dials as part of our study of the 'Sun'.  We used compasses to ensure our sundials were facing North and we were able to tell the time using the shadow shown on the sundial.  We also investigated our shadows at different times of the day and we know that when the sun is high in the sky our shadows will be shorter and when the sun is lower in the sky in the afternoon our shadows appear much longer.
