Last year Mrs Somerville & Mrs Corr went on a course run by Smart Teachers Play More in Spain and Iceland to learn lots of new ways to introduce core academic skills to young children during physical activities.
Today half of the class got the opportunity to have their first Play to Learn More session, they had to roll a dice with 6 colours on it, remember the colour they had got and then travel either over or under the tables and pick a counter the same colour as they got on the dice and match it to one of the 6 coloured circles and after this they then threw another dice to see how they would travel back to the block corner, before having another go. They all had lots of fun deciding whether to walk on skip or crawl across the table or crawl under it. Well done to all those who took part today, each group will have the chance to take part in these sessions throughout the year.
