Erasmus Plus Visit to Finland
Mrs Nugent (P6) and Mrs Somerville and Mrs Corr from Nursery have just spent a week in Turku, western Finland for the third meetings of our Erasmus Plus KA 2 Project 'European New Generation" with our partners from Finland, Denmark, Greece, Turkey and Croatia.
eTwinning Ted wen too & met up with his friend from the Croatian kindergarten.
During the visit the Windmill staff had the opportunity to join in some games with the kindergarten children and share some maths games from our school. Mrs Corr used some of the ideas she had learned from her Play to Learn More course last February in Iceland. On another day they spent the day in the forest with the children, seeing how they learn about maths in the forest & then they had lunch cooked on the fire.
Each of the partners shared some of the work they have been doing within their schools during the first year of the project. This meeting took place on a cruise ship!
On the last day Mrs Nugent shared a video on Mrs Ross doing some Primary Movement rhythm exercises and a maths professor shared how to make maths fun for very young children.
In December the partners will meet up in Croatia & Mrs Tate (P1), Mrs Donnelly (ICT Technician) and Mrs Corr (who ocordinates the projects) will attend.
